Meet Martin & Chamine McDowell
Pastor Martin McDowell and First Lady, Chamine McDowell have been married for 40 years and is the proud parent of two children, Twyla and Josh, and three grandchildren, Jon, Joy, and Elias.
Both individuals attended The Trinidad Evangelistic Center/The Pentecostal Cathedral in Port of Spain, Trinidad, where they dedicated their lives to the Lord at a young age. They both served in various ministry areas, including Sunday school executive, youth executive, drama, and music. Pastor McDowell also served as the Evangelism Coordinator and a board member for many years.
Subsequently, Pastor McDowell enrolled at The West Indies School of Theology (WIST) and was eventually entrusted with the responsibility of developing The Picton Chapel, a pioneering outreach of The Pentecostal Cathedral.
From 1993 to 1999, Pastor McDowell served as the senior pastor of The Picton Chapel, which is now known as “The Picton Worship Centre.” During this tenure, he oversaw the construction of a new, fully furnished church building. He and his wife, Chamine, provided general oversight to the congregation in areas such as preaching, teaching, music, evangelism, discipleship, marriage, and family counseling.
From 1999 to 2002, Pastor McDowell traveled throughout the Caribbean and North America, visiting various district and affiliate churches. His primary objective was to promote and seek funding for his missionary trip to Brazil.
In 2002, Pastor and Sister McDowell, along with their children, embarked on a missionary journey with the Pentecostal Assemblies of The West Indies (PAWI) in Brazil, serving until 2016. During their tenure, they established PAWI-BRASIL, PAWI’s newest district. Pastor McDowell dedicated himself to working with underprivileged children, providing them with gymnastics classes. Additionally, he conducted weekly English classes, Sunday Morning English Worship Services, and Sunday School. Subsequently, they established a Men’s Rehabilitation Center and a Children’s Feeding Program. With the support of The Agape Puppet Ministry, they formed a team of puppeteers who traveled throughout South America and Europe, sharing the message of God through puppet presentations.
Under the leadership of Dr. Marcus Roberts, the presiding Bishop, Pastor Martin McDowell has been serving at Calvary Cathedral of Praise for the past nine years. He gave oversight to the Woodruff congregation for six years. On September 18th 2022, Pastor McDowell was formally installed as the Senior Pastor of Calvary Cathedral of Praise.
