What We Believe

GOD THE FATHER:
We believe in God the Father who is perfect in all wisdom, all love and all power. He has created all things by the power of his word and He is able to regenerate the lives of sinful man who comes to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. He sent His Son into the world to offer redemption to all who will obey His voice. We believe that God is infinite. He is perfect in holiness. We believe that God hears and answers the believer’s prayers. He will forgive and save from death and destruction all who will come to Him. We believe that God is everywhere and He sees everything. We believe that God is a covenant God and enters into covenant relationship with his creation. Sin breaks the covenant relationship between God and man; therefore Jesus had to be sacrificed to restore the covenant relationship between God and man. We believe that God made man with the capacity to love and worship Him and to serve Him; that He cares for man as a righteous, compassionate and loving father and that nothing can quench His love towards us. (Matt. 6:1; Jn. 6:27; 1 Cor. 8:6; Gal. 1:1; 1 Thes. 1:1)

GOD THE SON (JESUS):
We believe that in the fullness of time our covenant God fulfilled his promises of salvation from sin by sending His only son Jesus into the world. He was born of a virgin through the conception of the Holy Spirit. He was fully God and fully man united in one bodily person. We believe that though he was born as a baby He was sinless because He was not of the seed of a man but of a woman. We believe that He conquered Satan by resisting his temptations by implementing the word of God. He preached the gospel of the kingdom, making disciples as He went. He was empowered to minister by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead and performed many wonderful miracles while He was here on earth. (Gen 3:15) We believe that the same power is available today to all believers who trust in Him. We believe that Jesus lived a perfect human life, wholly devoted to the will and purpose of God and the service of man. We believe that in Him, God came face to face with man so that man can know and understand the love that God has for him; that man can know that God is eager for him to return to Him to the purpose for which he was created. We believe that Jesus Christ is God yet distinct in attributes and character. We believe that Jesus yet equal with the father deserves supreme worship and praise. We believe that Jesus took the sins of the world so that anyone and everyone can have access to God through Him. We believe that He was crucified on a cross and He was raised from the dead on the third day. We believe that He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father (Matt. 14:33; 27:54; Rom. 1:1-4; Heb. 4:14)

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity; that He was in the beginning with God the Father; that He was sent into this world to convict men and women of their sins, to enlighten them of the righteousness of God the Father and persuade them to turn to God through Jesus Christ because of the impending judgment of God. We believe He was sent to be a comforter to the believer. He regenerates and sanctifies the believer and gives him the power to be an effectual witness for Jesus. He resides in the believer to guard his ways from the constant attacks of the Devil. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a teacher and the giver of gifts to the believer who asks of Him. (Gen 1:2; Luke 11:13; Eph. 4:30; 1 Cor. 6:19; 1 Peter 1:12; 2 Peter 1:21)
